May: Spring Cleaning

Final book for the Spring Cleaning theme.  This one is not your ordinary out with the old, in with the new.  This one revolves around a list, one thing I do to stay focused is to check off a list.  However in Kansas Heat it has some adverse effects to actually accomplishing the main goal, finding a wife.

Kansas HeatKansas Heat by Jenny Penn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Knox, Jace, and Cody Reese are ready to move on with their life and find themselves a wife they can share who will be loyal, proper, and the epitome of what a good wife and mother should be. Working their way through a long list of candidates, Cody finds himself out of turn when Amanda Johnson bumps into him. Amanda had made the list at Jace's insistence, but neither Cody or Knox could figure out why.

Amanda is completely opposite of what they are looking for, with her sensual nature, her tough exterior, and a mouth on her that won't quit Cody is completely captivated. It doesn't take much time for Cody and Jace to realize she is the one, but convincing equally hard headed Knox proves to be harder than expected. Amanda never one to face down from a challenge wont cower to Knox whose brazen dislike of her only ignites a fiery passion between the two that wont go out.

I loved this book, it looks like their could possibly be a sequel to it but not 100% sure on that. Jenny Penn is one of my favorite authors, she always has a rollercoaster of a book with alpha male vs very strong natured women. Amanda is a bit hard but you get why that is, she is a fighter and above all more vulnerable than most. A fantastic read.

Reread 11/21, still a good read. Definitely sequel quality and my review remains the same. Jace is my favorite out of the men, he is more sensitive but it can flip if he is provoked.

A Humble Heart by R.L. Mathewson

A Humble Heart (Hollywood Hearts, #1)A Humble Heart by R.L. Mathewson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dana knew that her life had come to a impasse, an unhappy marriage and two beautiful children who need unconditional love. When her novel is accepted she sees this as the opportunity she has been waiting for, she moves to California and begins a new life filled with love and acceptance. Now she has hit the big time but she still remains the tenderhearted woman she always has been and raises her children with a normalcy that is rare in Hollywood.

Hot Hollywood star Edward can't believe he has the script for his favorite book in front of him, what's better he has just signed on to play the lead in the movie. Edward is enchanted the moment he meets Dana, she is down to earth and beautiful and doesn't seem the least bit interested in letting fame take over her life. If his crush wasn't apparent enough, the minute he sees her with her children he knows she is the one. Now he has to figure out how to ask her out in order to make her a permanent fixture in his life.

This was a charming read, it does not have the humor the Neighbor series does but it still is a compelling read. It was kind of like you were looking through a window of someones life and watching Dana get swept off her feet.

Judging A Book By It's Cover Challenge (#3)

Judging A Book by It's Cover, is a weekly challenge that will be held every Wednesday, but you can complete at your own pace.

The gist of it I will go to my To Be Read on Goodreads and pick a book solely on it's cover. You can pick from books at home, shelfari, amazon, goodreads, etc.

At one point I read the synopsis so feel confident of the books in my TBR are ones I would enjoy, however for some reason I have not picked it up since adding it.

I will post the cover of the book with my initial thoughts on what I think it will be without rereading the synopsis. Once I have finished the book, I will write the review and compare review to cover. I think this is an interesting type of challenge and could be a lot of fun. Plus it gives me a chance to tackle books that either caught my eye or the cover has turned me off and I have not given a chance.

This week I am chosing:

Initial Thoughts: This one looks like rip roaring fun to me.  The title as well as the yummy man on the cover looks like it will be a hell of a good time.  Not sure premise for the story but I suspect combustable attraction between hero/heroine

Tam e Horses, Wild Hearts

Tame Horses Wild HeartsTame Horses Wild Hearts by Alison Paige
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Kate Mathers has what she calls a secret admirer, others including her undercover bodyguard Joe Garity call it a stalker. Kate doesn't know how Joe was able to sign up for her horse camp for children, but he is there and refusing to leave.

Ex-Cop Joe has one rule he lives by don't sleep with the person he is supposed to protect. The chemistry between Kate and Joe is undeniable and both find themselves unable to resist one another. What starts as a flirting quickly leads to something neither had ever hoped of finding, a relationship that works.

I started reading this and found I have read this before. Pretty good story, Joe is quite hilarious when he is learning to ride a horse in the beginning.

Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley

Motorcycle Man (Dream Man, #4)Motorcycle Man by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tyra Masters made a decision a long time ago that when she found the one, that would be her dream man and her life would change forever and in the best way possible. Tyra knows the second she sees Kane "Tack" Allen she knows she has met them and they spend the most intense sexual encounter together, reinforcing her beliefs. That is until he pats her ass and sends her on the way just like any other ordinary hookup. Incensed and humiliated, Tyra can't believe she slept with her new boss who promptly tries to dismiss her, he doesn't sleep where he works and that is crossing a line he doesn't want crossed.

Tack realizes he made he has made a huge mistake when he treated Tyra like any other biker babe and now he wants to show her in every way possible. The problem before him is the fiery tempered women who doesn't want to give him another chance. If he thought it would be an easy road he wouldn't bother, but Tyra is worth all of the intensity and obstacles he faces in order to keep her safe and by his side.

Well I have to say I have a new favorite. Tack is a hot blooded, hot tempered, goateed, tattooed, dynamo of a man. Talk about wanting to curl up with a book and never let go. Even though he crosses the jerk line a few times, he is so deep and true that it keeps your riveted. Utterly remarkable final book in a series, which is a rarity in itself.

Judging A Book By It's Cover-Results (#2)

A Date with the Other Side (Cuttersville, #1)

Initial Thoughts: My guess is it is two total opposites coming together and falling in love. Perhaps one is a chic person and the other a blue collar worker. The cover doesn't give you much to work with.

Results: I had the two total opposites right.  The rest not so much, Shelby is a young woman who lives her quirky life giving ghost tours.  Boston is a corporate style type of man who is suave and sophisticated.  Opposites attract and with the help from ghosts, the two find themselves thrown together often.  I had no idea this had a ghost element to the story which was a fun surprise.

Review:
A Date with the Other Side by Erin McCarthy
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Shelby Tucker has always just gone with the flow, she married young and divorced her high school sweetheart, not because they fought or disliked one another, he just wasn't it. Shelby has never expected more than what life has to offer and one of those is giving ghost tours to tourists.

Boston Macnamara doesn't know why his boss sent him to Cuttersville, but he is not happy about it. Point in fact waking up nude to have a pixie of a woman checking out his goods and talking in crypted speak that he can't wrap his head around. What he does know though is he would like to get closer to Shelby but with no commitment. Shelby wants a fling, but she maybe a little to hometown girl to allow it to happen.

The story is hilarious in the beginning, has a great opening chapter. It is fun and quirky but towards the end loses a little of it's charm. Overall a good story

Theme Day: Hidden Identity

There are some terrific books where the main character has kept their identity hidden from the heroine.     Some are undercover, some of their reason for anonymity, some are rich and tired of being played.  Regardless these are intriguing stories with a ton of surprises and  perfect remedy for spending a quiet afternoon.  A few of my favorites:

Wild Man (Dream Man, #2)See Jane Score (Chinooks Hockey Team, #2)All Or Nothing (Harlequin Blaze #417)

Mystery Man (Dream Man, #1)Mystery Man by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gwendolyn Kidd has held a secret for the past year and a half, she has a lover who started off as a one night stand. They don't talk and she never knows if it will be the last time she sees him or if he will return in the dark of the night another day.

When all hell breaks loose, thanks to her out of control sister, Ginger, Gwen finds herself seeking out her sister's biker boyfriend DOG. Dog makes it clear that he and Ginger are through and to stay away, but when she catches the eye of the bike groups leader Tack he makes it clear she is under his protection. Protection from what she is uncertain, but when her mystery lover shows up at her house she realizes she maybe in over her head.

Cabe "Hawk" Delgado vowed never to let someone get close again, but his time with Gwen has just taken a sudden turn. He has watched her from afar and savored their moments together but now he is seeing that his lover is full of spit and vineagar, she rambles, has a temper, and an unhealthy obsession with cookie dough. With danger knocking on her door and men circling ready to claim her, Hawk makes it clear he is the only man in her life. Problem is, Gwen has decided she doesn't like the bossy, arrogant man he is and tries to give him the brush off, but a few moist kisses has her going week at the knees and right into Hawk's arms.

This was a recomendation and wow, it should have come with a warning. There are a few chapters that had me overheating, I am talking about pure animal magnetism scorches the page...yowza. Highly recommend, can't wait to try more from this author.

Perfection by R.L. Mathewson

Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell, #2)Perfection by R.L. Mathewson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Trevor Bradford has his ideal wife in mind and she is perfect from head to toe, in fact he has a list with the traits that they need to possess in order to maintain perfection. His quiet little tenant in his townhouse has a few of those traits but she is hardly his type and she is a full figured woman and his plans to have a svelte wife who cooks like a goddess is more important.

Zoe has had it with her neighbor, he is loud, dirty, and inconsiderate. After the day from hell where she promptly lost her job after uncovering a thief, she had car troubles and is a sopping wet mess due to the weather. What she really needs is comfort food and to curl up in a ball, what she gets is her neighbor stealing her takeout order and insulted all in the same breath.

What starts out as a tolerable relationship ends up leading to a friends with benefits but no commitment arrangement, but to think it will be easy to maintain a distance is proving to be harder than both of them thought.

I would have given this a five, but Trevor is a bit of a dick for awhile. He is funny and charming in his own weird way but it took him awhile to man up. However I give this a 4.75 I was laughing out loud repeatedly, the Bradford's and their food habits crack me up. Great book.

Rock Chick Rescue by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Rescue (Rock Chick, #2)Rock Chick Rescue by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Always one to carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, Jet McAlister has yet another thing she is trying to work her way out of. She has a huge crush on Eddie Chavez, who frequents Fortnum's the coffee place she is working at, problem is his good looks and sexy sway have a way of making her look like a blathering idiot and jumpy to boot.

When Jet's long lost father makes a sudden appearance, Eddie has had enough of skirting around Jet. He plans to make his move, but a slight misunderstanding, a man with a knife, and an ill advised and not well thought out fight on Jet's part has her a target for some of the seediest characters out there. All the sudden the jumpy Jet is blossoming into the fiesty sensual woman he knew was under there and he has no plans to share. He just has to convince Jet she is with him, stop the attempts on her life, and try to figure out the next hair brained ideas she has running rampant in her head before she gets herself killed.

The gangs all there, Tex is back one of my favorites from the first book as well as Lee, Indy, Ally and others. I give this one a 4.75, got a slight ding because Jet is so smart and yet clueless at times. Eddie is a bit different than I thought he would be from the first book but in a good way. A satisfying addition to the first book.

**Reread and had a slightly different perspective since I had read before. Still stand by my original rating, Jet is an interesting character but sometimes you wanted to shake her and say wake up.

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

Question of the Week: Do you feel the need to write a review for your personal reads, as oppose to requested reviews, or are there some books you read just for the joy of reading?

My Answer, yes even the rereads.  I love to read and share my reading experience with others.  I dont have a close group of friends that share my passion for reading or the same reading tastes and finding them through the blog has been fantastic.  One because I get other books recommended to me which turn out to be wonderful and two because I can actually talk to others who have similar interests.

Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley

Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2)Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lauren Grahame spent ten years of her life being the dutiful robotic wife with the fancy career and the emptiness inside. Lauren had spent her whole life planning for that special moment which at 42 has never come and doesn't look like it will arrive anytime soon. Ten years married to find out her husband has spent the last five cheating on her with none other than her best friend. All the anger, hurt, and emptiness that she has within has found Lauren on the rode trying to find that place where she actually feels at home.

Arriving in Carnal, Lauren believes she has found it. Mustering every ounce of courage she has she walks into a biker bar and applies for the waitress job. Although she gets scoffed at and looks completely out of place as a suburbanite she gets the job. Lauren feels like this is where she was meant to be, in Carnal at least until she meets one third owner Tatum "Tate" Jackson. Tatum is sex on a stick in a very uber biker way and all of the that combustible appeal comes with one hell of a temper and loud mouth. Letting his feelings be known in a very vocal manner has Lauren at a crossroads, stay and tough it out or leave and try again. Well years of succumbing to everyones standards has taught Lauren one thing, it is time to find her back bone.

Lauren toughs it out, Tate feels like a heel and in a very round about way kind of apologizes. Another crossroad for Lauren who decides she will work for him but avoid him. Well Tate has staked his claim where Lauren is concerned and although Lauren is trying her best to keep him at a distance, Tate has no plans in letting her get far away.

The one thing you can always guarantee from a Kristen Ashley book is it is a hell of a ride from the beginning to the end. Tate speaks biker, Lauren speaks non biker and the two have a rocky road ahead of them as they are not always on the same wave length when speaking, which turns heated and sometimes quite funny. I feel like I am in a hazy fog, this came with so many quirky characters and dynamic story that I could not put it down. Utterly fantastic read.

May: Spring Cleaning

Final Spring Cleaning find for May is Divine Grace.  This is the ultimate out with the old, in with the new story.  Grace has a loser for a boyfriend and has finally realized it is time to get rid of the trash.

Divine Grace (Divine Creek Ranch, #1)Divine Grace by Heather Rainier
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Talk about an epic story, you are pulled in from the beginning with a very very shy Grace whose nuclear relationship with her boyfirned has caused her a lot of self esteem issues.

Jack Warner has been smitten with her for two years, making excuses to see her at the shop she works at. When Grace makes an unexpected move that introduces her to Ethan, Jack's roommate something is unleashed within her. Within days she meets Adam whose piercing gaze and calming manner ignites a long awaited rapture that has the rose colored glasses removed and Grace making some "house cleaning" decisions about her life.

Jack, Ethan, and Adam are all head over heels in love with Grace, she has an innocent quality but at the same time a little minx inside who is anxiously trying to get out. The story takes you through their journey as a couple and Grace's unveiling of a secure, confident woman.

Thought this was wonderful, I really regret not having picked this up sooner.

Reread 10/29 On second read a four star, but will leave it with my original rating. A good story, has a couple things that wore on me but I think it was because I was familiar with the story.

Notorious by Karen Erickson

Notorious (Playing With Fire, #4)Notorious by Karen Erickson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Eric has been on a downward spiral since breaking up with his two lovers, turning to meaningless sex and stiff drinks instead. When he sees Stacy, who he recognizes, at a bar he has been using to troll for partners he feels a closeness to her that he has not felt before.

A delicate relationship begins with Eric feeling like it will be only a matter of time before he derails it, but as they grow closer he realizes Stacy is it for him. Panic sets in and will it be self sabotage or happily ever after?

Even though Eric in the beginning is not quite likeable, you like him. He is vulnerable and lost, Stacy sees through all of this which makes the story even more special. I would have liked it to be a bit longer and really see the two develop they had a pretty powerful story. 3.99 rating, almost a 4 but I needed just a little more.

Kansas City Shuffle by Talya Bosco

Kansas City ShuffleKansas City Shuffle by Talya Bosco
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Larissa is thrilled to have won a once in a lifetime opportunity when she gets to have a shopping spree, room at a fancy hotel in Kansas City, and three dates with cover models from her favorite books by a local author. When two of her dates turn out to have emergencies, she finds herself in the company of Jared who she is strangely drawn to, not one to jump in bed with anyone she cant resist when it comes to him though. Having already made a date for the following night with Devon who she feels a strong connection to as well, Larissa finds herself conflicted on her desire for both men. Devon and Jared feel horrible about Larissa's confusion since they are the main reason for it, but as Alpha males their pack has to know that she is the right choice for them, even if it means breaking her heart in the process.

I really enjoyed this book, was not sure how it was going to unfold and it was a delightful treasure as it did. Loved that Larissa was a full figured woman who truly sounded like it in the book, great read.

***Reread because of all things I needed a book with a Kansas theme. Regardless, it was a good reread. I liked the twists in this one, I mean really you win a contest and have model dates and they turn out to be losers? Then you happen among two of the sexiest men you have ever met. If I could be so lucky, sigh.

Bodyguard by Jennifer Ashley

Bodyguard (Shifters Unbound, #2.5)Bodyguard by Jennifer Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Facing an armed robber whose intent in the end is to kill her, Elizabeth Chapman is trying to figure a way out of this latest mess when an unexpected visitor rescues her in her time of need.

Ronan, a bear shifter, always thought Elizabeth was a cute one but as a human had kept his distance. Seeing her fired up and not backing down though calls to him in the most primal of ways and when he realizes she is in even more danger than she thought, he chooses to be her bodyguard. Elizabeth doesn't like being told what to do, nor does she need a man to do the dirty work but Ronan not only talks to her he listens to her which has Elizabeth in tied in knots on what is the right thing to do.

I really enjoyed this one, had not read any of this series yet but what a hoot. Elizabeth is sassy and Ronan is a force to be reckon with but together they are explosive. Definitely reading more in this series.

Rachel Robinson knew the moment she met Boone and Chase Jackson they were the ones for her, but after every attempt of get them to make a move they continue to reject her. With the whole town in her corner, Boone and Chase have finally reached their limit and claim her, kind of.

After one night filled of passion, Rachel thinks they are ready to make it official, but Boone and Chase are not ready to make a commitment and manage to turn what they shared into something else infuriating Rachel instead.

Six weeks later, Boone and Chase find out they have royally screwed up. After weeks of trying to get Rachel to forgive them, they now find out she is pregnant and questions every motive for why they want a future with her.

This is a pretty good one for the Desire series, it is a real quick read. I thought Rachel was funny and sassy when it comes to Boone and Chase and you understand their hangups about commitment so it is easy to forgive them.

Heaven and Hell by Kristen Ashley

Heaven and HellHeaven and Hell by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Kia Clementine has lived the last seven years in hell. What started as the promise of a future with the man who swept her off his feet, ended up with years of abuse and the ultimate betrayal. Needing to step away from what turned out to be an ugly memory, Kia has flown overseas to gain new prospective and dream for a short time of what could be.

Finding herself seated next to a table with her one fantasy escape, former football player and army ranger Sampson Cooper. Every thought she had when she saw him in on television and in magazines are shattered in person, he is bigger than life.

Sam notices the beautiful woman instantly and figures it will play out the way it always does, she will fawn and throw herself at him or play coy until he makes a move. What Sam doesn't expect is her earnest avoidance of his gaze and brutal honesty when they begin to talk. In that one moment he is hooked, but he sees the shadows in her eyes and wants to help her overcome every single one of them.

As easy as it is to fall into his arms and let everything be fixed, Kia finds that Sam has his own ghosts he needs to release and in order for them to have a future she has to have all of him.

Like many of Kristen Ashley's books, the hero spends a lot of time in his head and shares minimal unless it is about the heroine. I liked Sam, but I was torqued as well as you see Kia freeing herself and he is causing her some angst with battling his own demons. Overall very good though.

Georgia On My Mind by Marie Force

Georgia On My MindGeorgia On My Mind by Marie Force
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Georgia Quinn has returned home to Newport, Rhode Island to settle her mother's estate. Realizing it is is going to take longer than she had hoped she takes a leave of absence from her job in Atlanta. As each day passes a piece of her old life unravels, her now ex-boyfriend breaks up with her, her job is teetering, and her "jogger stalking victim" has inserted himself into her life. Georgia does admit that Nathan is a highlight and looks even better in person than in his jogging gear, but she doesn't plan to remain in Newport and doesn't want to get attached, Nathan doesn't plan to let her go.

This is actually three stories rolled into one. Georgia is the main story but there is also Cat and Ian and Tess and Ben. Tess and Ben I actually liked the best, Ben is a wounded veteran who is struggling to adapt to his new life. Tess is an abused woman on the run holding secrets. Cat is the owner of a music club and Ian is a single father, I had a hard time wrapping my head around this one because Cat is kind of a brat.

If the story had been just Tess and Ben I probably would have given it 4 or 5 stars. I found myself wanting to hit Georgia on the head, Nathan loves her and she is obstinate and kind of whiney about it. It had some great parts to the story too but there was a lot going on.

Judging A Book By It's Cover Challenge - Results

Dangerous Secrets (Dangerous, #2)

Initial thoughts, it looks seductive to me and probably the hero has secrets (hince the title) and the woman is an innocent in the grand scheme of things.

Results: Overall I had some of it correct, hero has a major secret but the woman although innocent is also a bit oblivious.  The cover does encompass the overall theme of the story.

Review:
Librarian Charity Prewitt has her life comparmentalized, she works, she helps her Aunt and Uncle, and she spends her spare time helping others, what she doesn't have is much of a life outside of the commitments she has to others. Enter Nicholas Ames who walks into her library needing help, only to come back later and ask her out on a date. Ten days later she is head over heels in love, life couldn't get better for Charity or worse...

Nick Ames is not who he has led Charity to believe, he is known as the "Iceman" and the best at undercover work. Charity doesn't realize she is in the midst of some terrorist activity and for the first time in Nick's career he is regretting his involvment.

The opening chapter is one of the best I have read in a long time. The story unfolds and you know kind of what is going to happen but still need the puzzle pieces to fit. I would have given this a 5 but there was one aspect that just had me scratching my head a bit.

Here is the original link for the challenge that explains the rules if you still want to participate.

A Love Like No Other by Maggie Casper

A Love Like No OtherA Love Like No Other by Maggie Casper
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Raith Aldan is a man who knows what he wants. He built his career and now is ready to retire and venture into something new, like a BDSM club in Tahoe. Spending quite a bit of time on the phone with his realtor from Tahoe has Raith excited about meeting her, something in her voice and the ability to speak frankly with her him wondering if he is getting his hopes up for nothing.

Alexandra Aimon doesn't know what to make of Raith, on the phone he pushes her buttons and yet she is able to hide her arousal from him, in person however she can't help herself. Raith offers Alexandra a chance to explore her limits, hoping that this is the first of many.

There is a big build up to the story but then it kind of just rapidly ends. Overall intriguing, I would just have liked it to be drawn out more and establish the characters.

Instant Temptation by Jill Shalvis

Instant Temptation (Wilder, #3)Instant Temptation by Jill Shalvis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Harley is on a mission to study a rare coyote, her career is pending on it. What she had not planned on was having professional guide T.J. Wilder tag along. Like a thorn in her side, she plans to do things her own way but T.J. knowledge could be useful even though she may not want it.

Out of the three this was my least favorite. It is fun and has some really humorous parts, just liked the other two better.

The Turning by Jenniffer Armintrout

The Turning (Blood Ties #1)The Turning by Jennifer Armintrout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Dr. Carrie Ames saw her life change in one split second, who would have thought out of all the places in the world she would be attacked, in a morgue, by a dead guy. Comes to find out it was a vampire, and now Carrie has become one.

Her sire happens to be the lowest of men and of course her bad luck continues as she is bound to him. How could it possibly get worse, well she also has a new enemy who hates her sire and is sent to kill her but her biggest challenge is she is torn between good and evil and a weird attraction to them both.

I liked this one a lot, it is gritty, bloody, and a heck of a good time.

18 & Over Book

18 & Over Book Blogger Follow is a weekly feature that begins on Fridays and runs through the weekend, hosted by Crystal from Reading Between the Wines. This is a Friday blog hop with the objective to find and visit other book blogs that share the same interest as you, namely books geared towards the 18 & over crowd, and make some new friends!

Question of the Week: What are you currently? Do you love it? Is it a new-to-you author or an old favorite? Tell us all about it!

Collision (Buckin' Bull Riders, #2)I am reading Collision by Cassandra Carr the second in the Buckin' Bull Riders series.  So far it is really good, you have an ice skater and rodeo star thrown together to do a promo tour.   One is rough the other is sophisticated, put them together you have chemistry through the roof.  I have only read this author once before so am pleasantly pleased so far with this book.

Spurs and Heels by Heather Rainier

Spurs and Heels (Divine Creek Ranch, #5) Spurs and Heels (Divine Creek Ranch, #5) by Heather Rainier
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ash Peterson has a way of setting of Juliana Meyers with every word he speaks, the fiery tempered has a way of telling him off and trying to put him in his place. Ash though wont be detered from what he wants and it is Juliana. Through a series of comical events, the two find a comfortable rhythm as their relationship continues to grow even with a few hurdles set in their way.

I liked this one, dragged a slight bit at the end but otherwise a fun read.

***Reread because I was thinking of the mutton chop sideburns and the way Ash handles a volatile Juliana, whose potty mouth is trying to intimidate him. I think this was better the second time around.

When Micah Ross hired Dee Sumner two years ago, he never thought he would become attracted to her. Completely opposite from what he normally would go for, something about Dee intrigues him and underneath it all he knows she would be a perfect sub for his dom ways.
