I often wonder if a book would be as good if it didn't have the surrounding characters that help elevate the story onto a different level. These are characters who just add their own spice to the world. Here are a few of my favorites.
Tex, Shirleen, Todd, Stevie
Cat (Yes, the cat)
The Children (hellions)
Jane Austin
Hot Wheels and High Heels by Jane Graves
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Coming back from the special vacation her husband arranged for her, Darcy McDaniel is completely surprised when she finds out;
a) her husband has dumped her
b) he sold everything of hers except her dog
c) she is broke
d) he stole from his reporter
e) all the above
Now Darcy's favorite car is bieng repossed by a smart alec neanderthol who has no feelings. When he sarcastically offers her a job, she takes it. John Stark knows it was a momentary lapse when he offered the crazy woman a job, figuring she will never show, well she does and what has him scratching his head is she is good at it. She is also good at turning him all different ways as he struggles to fight his attraction to her.
Fun read, I was not sure if I would like it because it seemed so different but it was a really humorous read. Always enjoy Jane Graves books.
