Mate Set by Laurann Dohner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Every year Mika visits her Uncle for vacation, as a human her Uncle keeps a protective stance on her not wanting her to risk mating with a werewolf. Mika doesn't feel it would be a problem, especially since none have ever shown interest in her. Craving chocolate, Mika decides to walk to the store in the evening not realizing she has just placed herself in danger, it is mating season for werewolves and they are possessed more by desire than coherent thoughts.
Grady, a half breed, comes across a human woman trying to get away from four werewolves when he comes to her rescue. Before she can get a way though, his wolf needs to be tamed causing an intimate, if not embarrassing scene between them. Mika is willing to shrug it off though, expecting never to see Grady again. Until her Uncle assigns one of his enforcer's to be her bodyguard for the remainder of the stay.
Grady has vowed never to mate with a human, but Mika is a temptation that is becoming difficult to resist.
You could give me a book with no cover, description, or hint to what it is about and put Laurann Dohner's name on it and I would feel like I was getting the best present in the world. It always surprises me how good her books are, this one was primal, erotic, and full of surprises. 4.5.
