Judging A Book By It's Cover Results (#7)

This week I am choose:
The Edge of Night (The Protectors, #3)

Initial Thoughts: Bad boy biker is protecting a girl. Know it is part of a series, not quite sure why she is in a bikini wearing a cross, maybe a good girl.

Results: I had the biker part right and that is about it.  Heroine is pregnant, still in the early second trimester.  Would hazard a wild guess she wouldn't be on a bike in a bikini, but if you want to catch a readers attention this would be the way to do it.

The Edge of Night (The Protectors, #3)The Edge of Night by Marla Monroe
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amanda has a way of finding herself in the center of trouble, on the run from a ruthless ex, she finds herself at a truck stop trying to brush off an overzealous trucker when a biker comes to her rescue. Amanda figures if the man was nice enough to help out, perhaps he would be safe enough to hitch a ride with.

Morgan doesn't do attachments, but the woman he agreed to give a ride to on the back of his bike has his mind working overtime. With no destination in place, he knows she is in trouble, which he can do something about but his attraction to her is something he hasn't felt in a long time. Even though he finds out she is pregnant, it doesn't thwart the desire to be with her. He just needs to remember, when he gets her to a safe place, he is back on the road alone.

This really is a fun series. Morgan is tied up in knots about Amanda, he wants to be part of her and the babies life but his own tragic past is causing suppressed feelings he does not want to live with again. I liked Amanda, she is fun, feisty, and trying to find her way.
