Sometimes I wonder how an author comes up with the names for their characters, it can stump you in the beginning but once you get into the story the character lives up to the name. Here are a few of my favorites with unusual names.
Into The Shadow by Christina Dodd
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Karen Sonnet has lived her life trying to please her father, but nothing she does has been good enough. In Nepal to begin development on his new hotel, Karen finds herself visited at night by a seductive stranger who makes her forget all her worries.
Adrik Wilder covets Karen, not hesitating to kidnap her and make her his own. Adrik long ago swept out the good in the world, but when he sees Karen something within him wants out When Karen's life is in danger, Adrik will stop at nothing to keep her safe.
This is the first book I read in the series, of course it is number 3 but it didn't matter. Excellent story, I was completely captivated and not sure where the story would lead. Loved Adrik's character, thought he was somewhat brutish but seductive none the less.

It's been a few years since I read this series, but I really enjoyed it. I think I've still got the last one (or one of the last ones..can't remember for sure) in my TBR pile somewhere... :) Lol

Its funny you should post this. Its one of my favorite questions I ask when I'm interviewing an author. Actually I was talking to my sister in law once and she asked me if I didn't mind would I ask how authors come up with the names for their characters. She'd always wondered about that. I get some great responses.
