Hanging by a Moment by Susie Charles

Hanging by a Moment (Were Watching, #2)Hanging by a Moment by Susie Charles
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A moment from his past, shattered Ziggy's thoughts of ever taking a mate. When he meets Summer, a hostess at a BDSM club he frequents he knows she is the one, but unwilling to mate comes up with a plan to spend time with her in a just friends with benefits relationship.

Summer has been working towards regaining control of her life, brutally attacked by someone she trusted has her writing off men completely, until she meets Ziggy. Ziggy has her completely dropping her barriers, but he senses his reluctance to allow it to become something more. When her past comes back to haunt her, Ziggy's only thought is protecting her and fighting the urge to claim her as his mate.

I didn't like this one as much as the first in the Were Watching series. Ziggy was a big conflicting emotional mess when it comes to Summer, although sensitive to her past he was unreachable in other areas. He was pretty closed off, would have liked to a bit more vulnerability on his part.
