The New Alpha by K.S. Martin
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Tina has worked her way through overcoming bullying when she was in highschool to a successful bakery owner. Engaged to a fiancee who wants to wait for marriage, Tina wonders if that day will ever come. When her new tenant moves in over the bakery shop, she quickly finds out it is none other than Mac the sole source of torture in highschool.
Mac realizes that Tina is his mate, he isn't quite prepared for her unwillingness to talk to him though. Mac knows he did Tina wrong in highschool, but he was young and went with the flow of what his friends dictated. Trying to get back in Tina's good graces is harder to overcome especially since her strange fiancee seems to be up to no good.
There were several things I enjoyed about this story, but I had a little problem with how quickly Tina forgave Mac. She doesn't necessarily throw her trust his way but it is quick to relationship status. Overall enjoyable but could have used a bit more finesse in the acceptance of Mac into her life.
