UnEnchanted by Chanda Hahn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Mina Grime is the poster child for clumsy, quirky, outcast in her school. She hides from within and either is the source for anything weird or stumbling off after an embarrassing moment. After another outing goes awry on a field trip, Mina ends up rescuing the most popular boy in the school becoming the interest of many.
Mina doesn't know what is happening to her, days she thinks she might survive without something weird happening, the next she is looking at a donkey with a hat. Mina doesn't realize she is the victim of a family curse that descends from the Brothers Grimm, in order to survive she has to reenact the tales that are put in her path. The biggest obstacle the stories are always changing and you can't predict what the story is or how it will end.
Enjoyable story with several twists, one of which left me eager to read the next one. I love the interpretations of Red Riding Hood which this story is a take on. Can't wait to read the next one.
