The Green-Eyed Doll by Jerrie Alexander

The Green-Eyed DollThe Green-Eyed Doll by Jerrie Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Catherine McCoy arrives in small-town Texas hoping to be under the radar. Her past has taught her trust no one, keep to herself, and move along once you become comfortable. Her first moment in a new town though ends with her being pulled over by new Sheriff Matt Ballard, Matt doesn’t quite know what to make of the skittish woman but there is a connection even if she rapidly tries to deny it.

Catherine forms an unusual friendship with Matt all the while trying to keep him at a distance. Matt though is willing to jump through whatever hoops he has to in order to gain Catherine’s trust. When Catherine looks to have attracted a stalker, the timing is in conjunction to a stream of women being abducted and murdered. Matt has questions for Catherine, but it has to wait until he is sure he can keep her safe.
