Serenya's Song by Mysti Parker Book Spotlight and Review

No one ever said love was easy...

Serenya Crowe may be a half-elf commoner, but she's no ordinary woman. With the ability to interpret dreams, and a birth defect that forces her to wear gloves, she's endured gossip and the cruelty of her husband, Sebastian, The Earl of Summerwind. All she's ever wanted is to live a quiet life and raise a family. When she meets the new stranger in town, her world and her heart, are turned upside down.

Wood-elf Jayden Ravenwing is an ex-secret agent who wants nothing more than to forget matters of the heart. He left the bustle of Leogard and his failed marriage to make a fresh start in Summerwind. He never planned to fall in love again, especially with the enchanting Serenya Crowe.

When a strange portal opens on the Crowe property, Jayden is thrown into an investigation, knowing that if he fails, Serenya and everyone in the town may die.

Together, he and Serenya must overcome an ancient evil, and their own inner demons, to save Summerwind and find the love they've always dreamed of.

Serenya Crowe half-elf commoner, is an unusual woman who has the ability to interpret dreams.   When she wed her husband she believed he was everything she could dream of in a husband, but over the years his cruelty towards her has increased.  When Jayden Ravenwing a wood-elf arrives in Summerwind, he is looking to move past a failed marriage.  Serenya is trying to discover questions she has of her past, while trying to maintain the vows of her marriage, but she cannot deny the pull she feels when she is in Jayden’s company.   Torn with what to do, Serenya finds herself on a journey that threatens to jeopardize everything she values or could put her on a path to something she never expected, happiness.

Mystical read.  I can honestly say I don’t read too many fantasy stories of this nature, but I was captivated from the very beginning  Serenya I felt my heart tugging for, she is a brave woman who even though she is mistreated she still holds onto her spirit .  Jayden was one heck of  a hero, his character was filled with charisma and depth, you were completely drawn in.   An excellent read.

The Tallenmere series has been likened to Terry Goodkind's 'Sword of Truth' series, but is probably closer to a spicy cross between Tolkien and Mercedes Lackey.
