When Beauty was rescued by the New Species, her life that was previously lived in a bubble to a Master who treated her like a slave became wide open. Acclimating wasn’t terribly difficult, but now she is finding that her label of “Gift Species” has everyone treating her like a frail object and she wants companionship with a male and to be treated equal like the others.

Shadow is back from his latest assignment when he sees a person running, his instinct tells him it is a human and he tackles only to realize it is a Gift Species. Shadow is surprised that Beauty is not afraid of him and although against the rules wants to spend time with him, for the first time since his own rescue he is intrigued by a female.
