Nothing Personal by Jaci Burton

Nothing PersonalNothing Personal by Jaci Burton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Timid Faith Lewis has spent the last few years harboring a crush for her boss Ryan McKay. Now Ryan must marry in order to maintain control over the company and his bride has just walked out on him.

Ryan had no intention of marrying now he has to come up with a bride and baby within a year. Now that his latest attempt has fled as if the hounds of hell was chasing her down, he is desperate to find a new bride before midnight. Looking at his secretary Faith, he begins to form a new idea, although she is plain and wears clothes that fit horribly, her loyalty is unquestionable. Proposing a marriage where a child will be conceived, Ryan offers her something that no one else has ever done, a chance to have someone love her unconditionally, for if she has a baby, the baby will be hers and he will walk away.

I thought this was a wonderful read, of course I am a real sucker when it comes to Ugly Duckling stories. Faith is wonderful, she has some history that allows her to believe she is unworthy of love from another. Ryan harbors his own hangups when it comes to relationships that leave him believing it is better to be alone.
