That First Kiss by J.C. Valentine Book Tour and Giveaway

Blurb

Mercurial and charming, Tate Larson is a rising author and playboy who has a different woman on his arm every night of the week. Focused on his work, Tate has no plans to settle down any time soon. That is until he meets his pretty new assistant, Piper Donovan.

Desperate to escape the promise of backwater living, Piper ditched her Alabama hometown and never looked back. That was almost two years ago. Now that she is out of a job and her bank account is running on fumes, she’s desperate to find a job, fast. She finds the break she is searching for when she lands a position at Bookish Temptations. A little dancing and a lot of drinks with the girls seem the perfect way to celebrate. After a brief but explosive encounter with a man she was never supposed to see again turns out to be the same man she will be bending over backwards to please, her every instinct tells her to run. But when running means leaving the life she has struggled so hard to create, Piper decides her only option is to continue working for the devastatingly sexy Tate Larson...even if it kills her.

Unable to deny their growing attraction, they struggle to keep their distance in a relationship that requires anything but.

Review:
5 stars
Arrogant author and playboy Tate Larson, has a love them and leave them approach.  He feeds of the attraction and makes sure each woman is left with pleasure, but he has a hard and fast rule, never kiss them.  Seeing Piper Donovan in the club, Tate is caught off guard, she is easily the most beautiful woman he has ever seen.  He wants a touch, just a moment, but he is unprepared for the passionate, if brief, sexual encounter they share which ends in a kiss.

Imagine the look on Tate's face when he meets his new assistant, none other than the beauty who has haunted his thoughts since their encounter.  He tries to fire her, he gets flipped off.  He acts as his usual surly self trying to chase his latest assistant away, she is not impressed and has no problem voicing her opinions about his behavior.  Tate knows he is in trouble, he is falling hard for Piper which he vowed never to do again.  Despite all that and with as much class as broken down jalopy, Tate tries to show Piper how he really feels and ends up chasing away the best thing that has every happened to him.

Witty, laugh out loud humor.  I loved Piper, she is tough cookie and I absolutely loved Tate, even when he was a jerk.  The two together are walking mixed signals, which is the perfect blend for an outstanding story.

  1. My type is a bad boy with a good and honest heart. There's just something about bad boys that make my blood rush through my veins. I'm also a sucker for tattoos and bad boys usually have them, heh :D
