Cherish has had a crush on Carter since highschool, he was the one person who stood up when she needed a friend after a disastrous prom. When Cherish gets wind of her paper doing an article on newly transplanted Carter on their football team, she hijacks the interview wanting to see him again.
Carter has a rough road ahead of him and his sole focus is his career. When her immediately recognizes Cherish, he is kicking himself about poor timing. Carter had a major crush on Cherish in highschool, but never acted on it. The chemistry between Carter and Cherish is still there and when they act on it, they both are torn between what they want and what they should do, walk away.
