Drastic times lead to drastic measures, Dr. Allison Baker has put everything on the line believing she can bring new species 880 out of his coma. When she finds out that the powers that be have discussed pulling him off life support, she hatches a plan that not only will end her career, but could have her serving jail time. She kidnaps 880 and plans to wake him up by giving him a new female scent to hopefully latch onto and give him a chance at life.
880 failed, in his mind he didn’t protect his mate and the shame of her death has given him no will to live. When he hears a woman’s voice talking to him, for the first time he is focused on something else then his jaded memories. Meeting the human, Alli as she calls herself once he is awake has him grasping at the changes ahead, the one thing he knows though is he feels more at ease in her company. Alli’s crimes though are not going to go unnoticed and as policies set in, 880 becomes Obsidian and has a fight on his hand when it comes to keeping Alli as his mate.
