Poppy's Passion by Stephanie Beck

Poppy's PassionsPoppy's Passions by Stephanie Beck
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Growing up without love, Poppy Maguire has taken everything thrown at her with stride. When her fiancee leaves her after a miscarriage, it is just another negative that she pushes aside, her only bright spot lately is the friendship she has begun to build with Cody, Michael and Trevor Paraby. The three brothers are in town and have befriended her, she knows there reputation with women but they have not pressed her into anything more than friendship. When an incident leaves her needing comfort, she spends one night in their arms with the promise there will be more in the future.

Four months later they return, wishing they could have been there sooner and find Poppy pregnant with their babies. Cody, Trevor, and Michael are thrilled but Poppy's upbringing is making it hard for her to understand the love they are showering her with and hoping it could last.

This was actually a reread, I had not realized I had read but all the same excellent. Very detailed when it comes to the emotions of each character and I thought the way the author handles outside disruptions was practical and you could easily see it happening.

1/3 I must be addicted or something. Decided to reread again, I really like this story. This time for me Trevor stood out the most, he is blunt and humorous but also vulnerable when it comes to Poppy. Great story.

Justice by Laurann Dohner

Justice (New Species, #4)Justice by Laurann Dohner
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"I love the candor with the New Species, the blunt, very matter of fact retorts that they often say without truly knowing the other hidden meanings."

Mate For A King by Marisa Chenery

Mate for a King (Wolves of East Anglia, #1)Mate for a King by Marisa Chenery
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Taking a month for vacation in Englad, Lexi Weller is thrilled with the chance to discover her families history. When she is almost in an accident, she is prepared for the worst, instead she finds herself looking at the most stunning man she has ever seen who ends up asking her on a date instead.

Raedwald should be focusing on protecting humans from werewolves, but the second he meets Lexi he has an unresistable urge to be with her, the more time he spends, the more he wants her to stay by his side forever. He just has to figure out how to tell her what he truly is and not have her run off screaming.

Pretty good, this is very similiar to Roxie's protectors. Will try the next one, the other warriors who are lead by Readwald were intriguing enough to give it a try.

Go Fetch! by Shelley Laurenston

Go Fetch! (Magnus Pack, #2)Go Fetch! by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Conall Vga-Felian knew from the first moment he met feisty tempered Miki Kendrick that he wanted to bed her, the problem was she wanted nothing to do with him and she let him know it. The more she pushes Conall, the more certain he is that Miki is the one for him. When Miki's life is put in danger, Conall is determined to keep her safe but Miki has other ideas, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Loved this book, so far my favorite in this series. Conall has the patience of a saint when it comes to Miki who can be downright mean. There are several laugh out loud moments int he book as Miki tries to push Conall away.

1/2-Decided to reread because I was in need of something funny to read. Just as good the second time around. Connall is the master of patience, well kind of, when it comes to Miki. The stuff she does to him had me chuckling out loud, great book.

Hot Summer by Judy Powell

Hot SummerHot Summer by Judy Powell
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Summer Jones learned long ago that she had to stand up for herself if she wanted to get anywhere in life, although sometimes her scalding bite could be detrimental especially in the case of her jobs. When Summer is offered a job by a popular record producer, she questions his motives since he has experienced first hand the receiving end of her temper.

Lance is drawn to Summer, her blunt demeanor and hard work ethic call out to him. He can't deny the chemistry either, but Summer is sending mixed signals and he is not one to play games. When Summer finally admits to her feelings the one thing that stands in their way is her mistrust, will she be able to fully trust the man who is willing to give her everything?

I am mixed on this one, had some good concepts but was muddled with plot points that had no point. Summer was not really likable and a contradiction, the other thing about this book is I was confused about some of the characters and who they truly are. It was interesting enough that I finished it but that is about it.
