Kiss of Moonlight (Lucani Lovers, #1)Kiss of Moonlight by Stephanie Julian
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tamra McMillian has been hopping from place to place trying to forget the menories of a traumatic event that happened six months before, seeking out solitude and having little luck fighting the nightmares that continue to plague her.

At his daughter's pleading, Lucani Kyle Rossini seeks out his new neighbor, what he finds is a broken soul who happens to be his mate. Kyle has been the Assassin for the King for so long, he never planned on finding his mate. Normally feared by most, Kyle wants to comfort Tamra, but when a failed kidnapping puts Tamra in danger, Kyle plans to keep her safe one way or another.

I thought this was a wonderful story, a ton of rich history of the Lucani which adds a different flair to the shifter stories. I was completely intrigued with by both Kyle and Tamra, a memorable couple. Can't wait to read more.

With the promise of complete privacy, Rockstar Nathan Pace finds a woman in his room.

Sophie Butler is mortified when she realizes that there is someone in the room she has been cleaning, what is worse he is naked as the day he was born, and she can't take her eyes off him.

Nathan quickly realizes that Sophie has no clue who he is and one glimpse of her eyes has him reeling. He has been dreaming about her for ten years, intrigued, scared, and about to combust, Nathan acts on impulse wanting to see if she is the woman of his dreams.

Thoroughly engaging story, loved it. Both have been dreaming of one another and are reluctant to share that information, thinking the other will think they are crazy. I liked that Nathan tries to get Sophie to see him as he truly is, without the stage persona. Steamy read.

Artist Suzanne Cassidy is sitting in a bar waiting for the person she is meeting to show up, when she finds an unexpected muse across the bar. Intrigued by the man, who ordinarily is not her type, she sketches him while she waits.

Rockstar Garrett Henry is used to fans gawking at him, but something is different when it comes to the blonde beauty glancing his way. As if an invisible string was between them, he finds himself pulled into an undeclared relationship with Suzanne who has no experience with men. Garrett knows he should walk away, leaving her intact, but every fiber of his bieng says she is supposed to be with him. The only hurdle in their way is their lack of communication when it comes to their feelings, if they can put their fears aside they maybe able to hold onto to their love for one another.

Enjoyable read, I liked Garrett a lot. He is not your typical rockstar persona that you usually read about. I was a little conflicted on Suzanne and her rationalization which was conflicted sometimes in the story.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

One night of exquisite pleasure between navy SEAL's Dev and Drew has Julia Benedict fleeing back to Lusty, Texas as they go back on assignment. Believing it was what it was, a one night stand, Julia is home to stay even though she can't get either men out of her thoughts.

Dev and Drew knew Julia was the one the moment they touched her. When their last mission shakes them up, they plan for their future with Julia. However, they have to track her down first and when that doesn't work, they begin phase 1 of their plan to make Julia their wife.

Julia has enough bossy males in her life, she had no plans to add more. As Dev and Drew begin to phase 1 of their mission to capture Julia, she has a few plans of her own to keep the SEAL's at bay.

Pretty good, didn't have the zing the other books have. Although for fans of this series you finally get a hint of Ginny's story which I am excited about.

Meredith Johns agrees to go to a Halloween party, against her better judgement, hoping to have a fun night in what has been a long time. Instead she ends up finding a man in the middle of a mugging and rescuing him, promising to stay by his side as he is sent to the hospital.

With one glance Rey Hart has decided the woman in front of him, is a streetwalker and thief. Allowing no room for her to explain, he has her carted off to jail as he watches his brother remain unconsciously from a blow to the head. Rey is about to swallow some pride, when his brother Leo hires Meredith to cook their coveted biscuits while she recovers from her own injuries. Everything about Meredith is driving him crazy, her intellect is unparalleled, her spunk a perfect match for him, and every time he thinks he has figured her out, she does something to catch him off guard. Rey he has no desire to marry and he knows an Innocent when he sees it, but he can't seem to keep his hands, lips, and desires to himself when she is around.

I liked this one a lot, he is not as mean as some of Diana Palmer's characters can be. Also love the addiction to biscuits, such a small thing but brings a lot of laughs.

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

An unexpected meeting draws two strangers into a chemistry filled banter only to last the length of the taxi ride. Four years later Rhiannon Fairfax is thrown for a loop when her new boss happens to be the man in the taxi.

Billionaire Les Richardson can't believe his luck when he sees the beauty who has long haunted his dreams before him. Although he should just let her focus on her job as organizer for a party he is hosting, he wants to find out what is behind the stubborn woman who is determined to spar with him.

This was an interesting story, both have been betrayed in their past and have issues with expressing their feelings toward each other. Les is magnetic in his attempt to sweep Rhiannon off her feet, I think at times he assumes she knows how he truly feels but she doesn't. Pretty good story.

As Doctor Emma Guthrie is contemplating her life as a future spinster, she does not realize she has caught the eye of Duke Rivers and Gage Randall. Although both men are attracted to her, the last thing they want is to have Emma think of them as a a patient, especially with the predicament Gage has found himself in.

The timing could not be better when Emma moves in the apartment below Gage and Duke, wanting to finally make their move they discover they have more in common than they initially thought. Each one of them has a bucket list and and agree to tackle the items all three of them have on the list, the first is to be involved in a menage.

This was fairly good, a bit different than the other Divine Creek books. I did enjoy the crossover with Nell from the Bliss series, plus all the favorites are involved at some point in this book. The settings were fascinating as they work through their lists, if I thought camping in trees would be as fun as they had, I might just give it a try.

It was bad enough to have his bride run off with a staff member of the wedding coordinator, but to recieve an astronomical bill on top of it has billionaire Tom McFarlane out for blood. He cant deny his attraction to event coordinator Sylvie Smith and after a heated passionate exchange he believes she doesn't want to see him again.

He couldn't be farther from the truth, especially now that Sylvie is pregnant. What started as a misunderstanding has her running in circles as Tom reenters her life and promptly notices the swelling in her belly.

I struggled with this one, it was so convuleted and I did not like either characters by the time it was done.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

After being thrown out of her marriage without her son, Holly Lang moved to Bliss and tried to rebuild her life. Eight years later she has found herself torn by her feelings for surly Doctor Caleb Burke and ex-hit man Alexei Markov.

Caleb wants Holly, she is the only bright spot in his world but he still has not recovered from a traumatic experience and does not feel he could give her what she needs, a whole man.

Alexei had one goal in mind when he testified and sent the Russian mob to jail, to get back to Holly. After being shot he owes Caleb his gratitude and plans to give him the one thing he wants most, Holly. He has done his research and is more than willing to share the the person he loves because he knows Holly would never feel complete without both men in her lives.

At first I was unsure about this one, took sometime to get into for me. That all changed though when Caleb stopped running, than a humorous story unfolded filled with sizzling comodarie. Alexei is hilarious with his broken English and outdated terms he uses. A delightful read.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Attorney Nita Reynolds believes she is going to die, she does the one thing she has fantasized about for three years, calls Detective Craig Walker and asks him out with the full intention of taking him to bed.

Craig cant believe his luck, having asked out the fiesty lawyer twice he figured the chances were slim she would break her no cop rule. The night turns out to be as good as he hoped, until he realizes she thought she was dying and it was the only reason they went out.

I thought this was a perfect quickie, had enough content that you felt like you were getting a full story not just a teaser. Definitely going to check out more of Norah Wilson's work.

Growing up without love, Poppy Maguire has taken everything thrown at her with stride. When her fiancee leaves her after a miscarriage, it is just another negative that she pushes aside, her only bright spot lately is the friendship she has begun to build with Cody, Michael and Trevor Paraby. The three brothers are in town and have befriended her, she knows there reputation with women but they have not pressed her into anything more than friendship. When an incident leaves her needing comfort, she spends one night in their arms with the promise there will be more in the future.

Four months later they return, wishing they could have been there sooner and find Poppy pregnant with their babies. Cody, Trevor, and Michael are thrilled but Poppy's upbringing is making it hard for her to understand the love they are showering her with and hoping it could last.

This was actually a reread, I had not realizesd I had read but all the same excellent. Very detailed when it comes to the emotions of each character and I thought the way the author handles outside disruptipons was practical and you could easily see it happening.

1/3 I must be addicted or something. Decided to reread again, I really like this story. This time for me Trevor stood out the most, he is blunt and humorous but also vulnerable when it comes to Poppy. Great story.

Promising her mother that she would return to her childhood home upon her death, Jade Ash is ready to fulfill her wish. With some trepidation, she heads to Eagle River, Ontario hoping to talk the owner of the house into letting her see the cottage her mother was raised in.

Sloan Taggert knows the instant he sees Jade she is his mate, he also senses that it is going to take some seduction on his part to win her heart.

Pretty good start to the series. Jade is perfect as the alpha mate, even without knowing she is destined to be Queen she holds herself regally and acts with compassion, as well as a few sparks with her temper when it comes to Sloan. Fun read.

Conall Vga-Felian knew from the first moment he met feisty tempered Miki Kendrick that he wanted to bed her, the problem was she wanted nothing to do with him and she let him know it. The more she pushes Conall, the more certain he is that Miki is the one for him. When Miki's life is put in danger, Conall is determined to keep her safe but Miki has other ideas, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

Loved this book, so far my favorite in this series. Conall has the patience of a saint when it comes to Miki who can be downright mean. There are several laugh out loud moments int he book as Miki tries to push Conall away.

1/2-Decided to reread because I was in need of something funny to read. Just as good the second time around. Connall is the master of patience, well kind of, when it comes to Miki. The stuff she does to him had me chuckling out loud, great book.

Taking a month for vacation in Englad, Lexi Weller is thrilled with the chance to discover her families history. When she is almost in an accident, she is prepared for the worst, instead she finds herself looking at the most stunning man she has ever seen who ends up asking her on a date instead.

Raedwald should be focusing on protecting humans from werewolves, but the second he meets Lexi he has an unresistable urge to be with her, the more time he spends, the more he wants her to stay by his side forever. He just has to figure out how to tell her what he truly is and not have her run off screaming.

Pretty good, this is very similiar to Roxie's protectors. Will try the next one, the other warriors who are lead by Readwald were intriguing enough to give it a try.

Summer Jones learned long ago that she had to stand up for herself if she wanted to get anywhere in life, although sometimes her scalding bite could be detrimental especially in the case of her jobs. When Summer is offered a job by a popular record producer, she questions his motives since he has experienced first hand the receiving end of her temper.

Lance is drawn to Summer, her blunt demeanor and hard work ethic call out to him. He can't deny the chemistry either, but Summer is sending mixed signals and he is not one to play games. When Summer finally admits to her feelings the one thing that stands in their way is her mistrust, will she be able to fully trust the man who is willing to give her everything?

I am mixed on this one, had some good concepts but was muddled with plot points that had no point. Summer was not really likable and a contradiction, the other thing about this book is I was confused about some of the characters and who they truly are. It was interesting enough that I finished it but that is about it.

This is actually the first book in series.

The only thing Sophie Rousseau ever wanted was to be mated with Nik Alexander. They have been doing a sensual dance of flirtation for years and the time has come for Nik to claim her. An unexpected turn of events happen after an attack on the unmated females, an order for the remaining unmated females will have three mates and they have to complete the bond within 30 days or the male mates will be killed.

Nik is willing to standby the pack's orders, but Sophie's needs are first and he wants whatever happens to be special and not have her put in the middle of pack politics.

This was a strange one for me, there were elements of the story I liked a lot, as well as some not so much. You never really get to know the two other mates and one of which seems to be a bit of a lech. Where as Nik is a charmer, his love for Sophie is evident in everything he does. I am going to read the next couple in the series to see if it gets better.

Opening her own coffee shop has been a dream of Madison's, getting dumped at the same time was not part of the plan. Needing to find her "rebound" guy she sets her eyes on her brothers best friend Gabe. Gabe has no desire to cross the line where his friends sister is concerned, but when she becomes the only witness to actually see the violent Espresso Bandit he steps in to protect her. It doesn't take long for temptation to become to hard to resist before the two fall in bed together.

I was disappointed in this one, I did not like Madison. She was just too abrasive for me. I thought that once the story went on I would soften my opinion, but she never does.

View all my reviews For the Love of Anna (The Town of Pearl, #1)For the Love of Anna by Dixie Lynn Dwyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When her mother died, Anna promised that she would take care of her father, even though he was abusive, drunk, and did not show a grain of feelings towards her. When her father tries to sell her into prostitution, it is the last straw. Barely escaping with her life, Anna flees to Pearl to her only friend Stacey, until she can recover.

Wyatt, Charlie, and Ben Cantrell are the cousins to Stacey's men and take an automatic interest in Anna. Not only do they want to protect her, the think she is the one they have been waiting for. Her innocence and fear towards men have them treading slowly as she heals from the beatings she arrived in town with, each one falls deeper for Anna as she begins to embrace the chance of true happiness.

This was a reread for me but my rating still stands. I like this story, it is a bit rough but I think the pacing is perfect and each of the Cantrell men are so different that you can't pick a favorite. Ben is the playboy, Wyatt is the stern Sheriff, and Charlie is the tender soul. Hope she writes more in this series.

Chance and Davis have been waiting for years to claim Lacie, expecting total acceptance to their ways, only to find that Lacie pushes the buttons and has a hard time with following their rules.

I was disapointed in this one, it did not follow the previous three and frankly did not like any of the characters. Chase and Davis are caveman who never really soften in the story. Big Jenny Penn fan but this one did not work for me.

Diana Ridley has enough problems of her own, with two teenage children and an ass for an ex, she is not looking to be den mother to Adam Weis and his pack. Adam is the Pater Cainis of his pack, as the foster parent to five boys he had not planned on finding a mate but the boys determination that Diana is who they want has him finding ways to spend time with the fiesty woman.

I almost passed this book because of the title, however it was pretty good. I am giving it a 3.75 because there were a few missing pieces in the story that got me a bit confused, it all worked out and was a minor in the story. I would definitely try this author again.
