Race knew the moment he met Mara she was his to protect, he wants to earn her trust and give her all the comfort and love she deserves. Race knows her first priority is her son, but she is also been spelled and unable to speak or hear. Even though their seems to be a possible solution, Mara finds she is still scared and wants Race to be there in every way possible, but communicating that maybe harder than she thinks because Race wants to make sure that he is what she really wants.
