Katrina, the Beginning by Elizabeth Loraine

Katrina, the Beginning (Royal Blood Chronicles, #1)Katrina, the Beginning by Elizabeth Loraine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Katrina is a beautiful young woman, a royal vampire from an ancient line. This is her story. When the youngest member is summoned to a council meeting, she finds her life will never be the same. She harbors a crush on her guard, which is forbidden. An attack has Katrina wanting to find out who is a spy as well as making her time with Quinn more difficult to stay neutral. Enter Damien into the story, he is the high regent's son. Katrina is curious about the stunning man, but can she trust him and what about Quinn?

Intrigue, romance, and betrayal the reader is thrust into a a fantastical world that unfolds into a wonderful story. I wasn't sure who Katrina would end up with and compelled to continue reading to figure it out. Will definitely be reading more from this series, reminded me a bit of the Gardella series which I thoroughly enjoy. Had a sensual quality that I thought elevated the story. Excellent red.
