Outspoken Angel by Mia Dymond

Outspoken Angel (SEALS, Inc., #2)Outspoken Angel by Mia Dymond
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cameron Tremaine leaves no man without the sting of her tongue and her ability to intimidate even the strongest man, has them running for the exit when confronted by her. The stiletto wearing blond bombshell may look like an angel, but behind those shimmering curls she is as wicked as they come.

Undercover SEAL Max Sterling has been captivated by Cameron from the moment he set eyes on her, of course he has no plan to let her know it. When a stalker from her past is released from jail, Cameron is put in danger and Max plans to be by her side protecting her but the vixen wants Max in more ways than once and Max is having a hard time resisting the temptation.

The series gets better and better, Max is a dominant hero and pure sin. My cheeks (facial) hurt from the smile plastered on my face while reading the interaction between Max and Cameron, yum....

**Reread because trying to finish series. This is a really fun book, best so far in the series. Max is totally off his game when it comes to Cameron everytime he thinks he has her figured out she surprises him.

Monday Musings...Looking for?

I am trying to find a sports story I read awhile ago.  The premise is a photographer (female) who gets her lucky break and is photographing on the field when a football player ends up tackling her.  She becomes injured and I think he takes care of her but cannot recall.  Any ideas?

Goals For A Sinner

Jane and the Sneaky Dom by Hannah Murray

Jane and the Sneaky DomJane and the Sneaky Dom by Hannah Murray
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Jane Denning has had one bad date too many, after she dumps the latest who blames their so-so sex back on her, but claims to be able to work with it, she knows she needs a plan of action. With her best friend in tow she reveals her new plan, finding a man takes control in the bedroom and discovering if she can submit.

What Jane does not realize is her choice for publicly stating her new mission in her coffee shop has found it's way to the ears of a man willing to accept, only she just doesn't know that Ian has heard every word she has said about her newfound desires. Ian had planned to ask the stunning beauty out when he saw her, but when he hears her plan he puts his own in motion. The more he gets to know Jane the more he decides he is playing for keeps.

Fun filled read, hilarious, Jane is spunky throughout and some of the things she does is laugh out loud funny. Ian is all Alpha and you love every moment he is on the page, a new favorite.

**Reread since I ran across this while organizing my shelf. This is a fun read, Jane is very vocal and Ian wouldn't have her any other way.

Leather,Lace, and Rock n Roll by Mia Dymond

Leather, Lace and Rock-n-Roll (SEALS, Inc., #1)Leather, Lace and Rock-n-Roll by Mia Dymond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Burned once and unable to forget how much it stung, Rachel Newberry has repeated her mantra of "Brains before Beauty" so much, she is a firm believer that she is unattractive and could never be the object of anyones desire. Fortunately for Rachel she has a close friend whose lust for life has her timidly stepping her toes into an adventure, rather than the boring lifestyle she has surrounded herself with. Her first challenge, go to a rock concert with backstage passes and a bikers bar afterwards.

Rock star Jaydon "Hawke" thinks his assignment will be a breeze, Rachel is under investigation and they need to find out if she is part of a terrorist group or an innocent victim, all he has to do is charm her into telling him all her secrets. Of course there is a lesson to be learned about cockiness, Rachel has no interest in allowing Hawke close and quickly rebuffs his efforts. What should have been an easy assignment soon becomes a matter of keeping Rachel safe, as she has become a target and Hawke has fallen hard for the quirky beauty.

Loved it. Has a few things that never got quite wrapped up but they were so minor it doesn't matter. Rachel is quirky and fun, her random facts that she blurts out are hilarious and keeps Hawkes on his toes. I liked Hawke, I thought the whole idea of an undercover Navy SEAL as a rockstar was a brilliant idea. Can't wait to read the next one, Cameron is a saucy wench and Max is falling hard and fast for the woman who has tempted him through out the first book.

Reread because I want to finish the series. Still great story, fast paced and fun read.

Theme Day: Dangerous Heroes

Wild Card (Elite Ops, #1)Wild Card by Lora Leigh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

When Navy SEAL Nathan Malone left for his latest mission, he did not realize it would be the last time he saw his wife. Brutally tortured and left with only the shell of the man everyone knew, Nathan has kept away fearing his wife, Sabella, would never be able to accept the person he has become. When he is sent back to the place he left on a new mission as Noah Blake, he is not sure what to make of the hot blooded woman with a unyielding temper his wife has become.

Six years later Sabella is struggling to keep the shop her husband had built afloat, when a biker comes to town and her brother-in-law promises him a job. Something is off with Noah Blake, Sabella has not once felt passion for anyone since her husband, not to mention that he comes into her shop barking orders as if he owns it, she wants him gone. She has one hell of a fight on her hands as Noah plans to capture her heart and soul with or without a fight.

Wild Card=Wild Ride. I loved this book, just loved it. I cried, laughed, stressed myself out trying to figure out what was happening. Gritty, sexy, and a whole lot of fun.

Ally Kendall knew the moment she died and came back to life that her one focus was raising her nephew Dylan. She did not know where her life would lead, but rolled with the punches which has led her to seeking out Cade MacDougall, Alpha and Uncle to Dylan with her cousin and friend in tow she is not sure what will come next.

It doesn't take long for Cade to realize he has met his mate, but she is nothing like he would have expected. She acts like an alpha, has secrets and unnatural abilities he can't explain, and has formed an attachment to his daughter who thinks she is a cat. With his enemies striking out and some unexpected visitors, Cade's hands are full especially with Ally's interference, but he wouldn't have it any other way.

This was a reread for me, but I chose to reread because I did not have a review and I had forgotten most of the story. This is a great shifter story, has some unusual twists and historic aspects to the shifter legends which was intriguing. Loved Cade and Ally she is feisty and he is arrogant, they clash, they storm around one another, and they sizzle off the pages when they come together.

Theme Day: Writers

I thought it would be fun to showcase stories that one or more of the characters are writers.  I always like these stories, sometimes it is a a surprise that they can write about something they know nothing about which can lead to a hilarious story.  Here are a few I have enjoyed.

Tangled Up In You (Writer Friends, #3) (Truly, Idaho, #2)True HeartSingle White Vampire (Argeneau, #3)Erotic Research (Black and White Collection #1)

Sex, Lies, and Online Dating (Writer Friends, #1)Sex, Lies, and Online Dating by Rachel Gibson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lucy is a mystery writer who is currently writing about a female serial killer who is strangling her online victims. When she meets Quinn hoping he will be the last of the dates she is using for research, she is surprised by the attraction she feels for him and his ability to break through and touch her heart. What Lucy doesn't know is Quinn is a homicide detective and Lucy is his number one suspect.

Clever and very funny, Lucy has had a string of bad boyfriends and thinks she sees something in Quinn, while Quinn is playing his part he finds it difficult to keep it business as usual especially when he is looking at suspected murderer Luc.

Heart of the Wolf by Terry Spear

Heart of the Wolf (Heart of the Wolf, #1)Heart of the Wolf by Terry Spear
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Valon set out to claim Bella, a rare red werewolf as his own, Bella knew she had to flee. Her only hope was that her closest friend and the man she had feelings for, Devlyn would claim her instead. As Devlyn showed his loyalty to Valon, Bella knew she was on her own fleeing to Oregon.

Years later a series of murders who closely resemble Bella, have her eager to investigate. Her plans are quicly foiled though in wolf form she is captured and put in a santuary with other wolves. Devlyn is sent by Valon to bring Bella back, but once Devlyn sees Bella again he knows no one will mate her but him. Trying to convince her he can take on Valon is no easy task, as the fiery tempered redhead also wants to stop the murders which she believes is another wolf. Devlyn intends to claim Bella and keep her alive, even as the nearest threats draws nearer.

I was torn with this story, there is alot happening and I found myself struggling to grasp the full nature of the story. The premise is good overall, just had too much going on.

Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Reckoning (Rock Chick #6)Rock Chick Reckoning by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When Stella met Mace she fell hard, when Mace walked out of her life six months later, she fell harder. A year later the Rock Star has found her footing and although it is still raw, has moved on from her time with Mace. The last thing she needs in her life now is Mace, but he is back now that she and the other Rock Chicks are being targeted and Mace has no plans to walk away this time.

Mace has enough of his own baggage to know the biggest mistake he made was walking away from Stella, he plans to get her back. Although Stella still wants him, she doesn't plan to go easily as Mace plans not only to protect her but claim her as his and never let her go.

I liked this one, not my favorite out of the series but had plenty of Rock Chick moments. I was hooked from the beginning but this had other viewpoints in the story which drifted from how the previous books have been and I felt it kept me off guard, I just wanted more Stella and Mace.

April: Dangerous Heroes

Operation: Spank MeA twist on dangerous heroes, this is a fun one.  The chemistry sizzles via the internet, but game is up when Finn comes looking in person for the woman who has wiggled her way into his heart.

Operation: Spank Me by Christina James
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lieutenant Finn Coleman has always lived his life by the strict code of the military, when he started talking to cyber pen pal Emma Shield he knew that he had to meet her one day. Finn is smarter than Emma gives him credit for, she is far to intelligent to be the campy persona she has created as her profile and after months of insistence asking for a picture he finally decides to make good on his promise, to spank her butt when he sees her.

Emma cannot believe how attached she has become to the mysterious Finn Coleman, she has revealed her inner desires that she had only read about in her erotic novels, knowing they would never meet what would be the harm in expressing them. That is all about to change when Finn shows up on her doorstep, but Emma is never one to back out of a direct challenge, she is about to up her game and has found a worthy opponent.

Wow, not a major descriptive word but this blew my socks off. I flushed, giggled, and just was completely in rapture by this book. Fantastic read.

It only takes one minute though as she walks through the door of the Nightingale offices to realize she is not ready to see Luke and tries a quick retreat, however Luke wants answers from Ava not to mention her in his bed.

Things are only heating up as Ava finds herself being sought after by four different men, including Luke. Open Season by Kaliana Cole

Open Season (Liberty Springs, Wyoming , # 4)Open Season by Kaliana Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When Dale McCabe moves to Liberty Springs, Wyoming she looks at it as a new lease in life. At twenty four the quietly small woman has always relied on others to make her decisions, help when needed and do her best not to be friends with people who may use her. Her mother's misguided parenting have left a big sense of weariness in her young daughter, but finding out she has a brother she knows nothing about she decides it is time to make decisions for herself that will make her happy.

Mechanics Danny Blake and Jack Taylor have been best friends for years, even though they are close they know one thing, they don't like to share. When they see Dale though they realize they might have to if they want her. Dale is everything both men could hope for, she is selfless and warm and giving. Both men have reputations for their past randy behavior but both know that when it comes to Dale this is forever. Making a deal with her brother to wait until she turns twenty-five is going to test their will in every form, as Dale has decided she doesn't plan to wait until to claim what is hers.

This was a bit different than the rest of the series, it had a quieter tone. There were a few things that were left unexplained which I would have liked to see resolved, Danny was my favorite he is a big bear but when it comes to Dale he is so delicate and sweet.

Rock Chick Renegade by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Renegade (Rock Chick, #4)Rock Chick Renegade by Kristen Ashley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Vance has seen it all in his life, but he can honestly say he has never seen a vigilante women yielding a gun chasing, a notorious player and thug and looking down right sexy at the same time. As he watches Jules "Law" spring into action he knows two things: 1. She can't go around shooting a gun in public or her work will be for naught. 2. She is his, he plans to claim her in every way possible, she just doesn't know it yet.

Jules can't help the fluttering feeling she has when around Vance, but she plans to ignore it, at least after he kisses her. Not one to take orders from anyone, Jules plans to continue her quest for ridding the streets of filth, but when a target is put on her back, Vance steps in. As if it is confusing enough to find she has deep feelings for the man everyone says is a player, the Rock Chicks have claimed her as family and she doesn't know what to do about that either. Well at least with Vance she can think of several things to do and decides maybe she will just go with the flow, even if there is a few hiccups along the way.

This is my second favorite in the series so far. Vance is like a smore, ooey and gooey and makes your insides melt. I loved this story, it was a total blast, I could never have imagined a use for saran wrap the way it is used in this book and it is hilarious. Rock on Rock Chicks!

Daisy wants nothing more to do with Nick, but with a new business can't turn him away as much as she wants too.
